Eleanor Hannan

When I was 3 years old, all of the neighbors knew me as the girl who sang Disney princess songs in her yard for hours. It was only fitting that from the moment I walked into the Lunt-Fontanne the following year to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway, musical theatre had my heart.

 

I grew up in Milwaukee, which I credit with my love of lakes, smiling at strangers, and talking endlessly about my German heritage. I am eternally grateful to  have been immersed in the city's vibrant theatre community, from touring elementary schools playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz  to making my professional debut at age 12 in the world premiere of Lovabye Dragon. In high school, I was privileged to study with First Stage's award-winning Young Company, where I discovered my passion for Shakespearean rhetoric. 

 

​ After graduating as valedictorian, I spent a year with the University of the Arts in Philadelphia (go birds!) working towards a BFA in musical theatre. The university's abrupt closure in 2024 may have thrown a wrench in my plans, but when one door closes, another opens. I am finishing my BFA in musical theatre with an additional minor in literature at Dobbins Conservatory at Southeast Missouri State University, and I couldn't be happier.

I pride myself on my strong command of text, my attention to detail, and my bright soprano voice. I am to bring fierce wit and determination to contemporary and classical ingenues alike, but my passions encompass a wide range. From dialect work to rhythm tap to guitar, I love to create in any way I can.
